Team India's head coach Rahul Dravid was about to leave for Dubai for the Asia Cup 2022 with the team, but before that he was found to be Corona positive and he is in India. In such a situation, the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has sent former cricketer and National Cricket Academy (NCA) head VVS Laxman to Dubai for the big tournament, who went on the Zimbabwe tour as the head coach of Team India.
Giving information, the BCCI has informed that VVS Laxman will be the interim head coach for Team India for the upcoming ACC Asia Cup 2022 to be played in UAE. Laxman, who traveled with the Indian team playing the ODI series in Zimbabwe, will oversee the team's preparations in the absence of Rahul Dravid, who was tested positive before the team's departure to the UAE.
Dravid will join the team once he is found negative in the COVID 19 test and will be cleared by the BCCI medical team. VVS Laxman arrived in Dubai along with team vice-captains KL Rahul, Deepak Hooda and Avesh Khan, who have hailed from Harare.
